HIKING OPTIONS...easy to hard:

 

Off Hwy 7, you'll find Lily Lake the perfect spot to hike or fish, approximately 1.5 mile flat trail,

easy and relaxing.  

 

For more spice, hike Lily Mountain, trail head 1/4 mile west of Lily Lake, or access off the main flat trail,for 2 miles straight UP to incredible views! hard!  ROCK CLIMBING is possible the top!  

 

Twin Sisters hike, a fairly strenuous and hearty venture, and gorgeous views at the top;

parking lot for this is opposite Lily Lake.

Head out Hwy 72, turn into Peaceful Valley Resort, and check out their little chapel; you'll have to take a little hike UP to it, but it is worth the walk.  A precious spot! 

 

After Peaceful Valley, also along Hwy 72, check out Brainard Lake and explore

the trails and lake setting.  

 

Along Hwy 72, north side, before you hit Brainard lake, enjoy hiking and river views

at Camp Dick.  Day parking available.

Or 4X4 drive up to Red Deer Lake (strenuous trail, so research and be prepared)

for an all day fishing and hiking adventure.

 

Past Camp Dick along Hwy 7, go left and explore Gold Hill.  All dirt road town!  A great half day outing would be to hike the gorgeous Switzerland Trail until you are hungry, then head to the Gold Hill Inn for your dinner reservation.

Mt Meeker and Longs Peak…both require MUCH planning and research to prepare…do your homework on these two!  Best time of year to summit will be August (least amount of snow).

 

 St. Malo Church: Don't miss this amazing chapel on the rock, located on scenic Highway 7 en route from Allenspark to Estes Park...a must stop to stretch out the legs and take pictures!

APRES HIKE DINING OR SNACK IDEAS:

 

Enjoy lunch at the BaldPate Inn, right across the street from Lily Lake, where they serve a soup and salad bar out of a claw footed bathtub. They have seasonal hours so call ahead and make a reservation 970-586-6151.

 

At Meeker Lodge, various activities always going on, check ahead for hours as they are

only open Memorial Day – Labor Day Weekend.  There is a small store here as well with light groceries, snacks, ice, laundry services.
