Riverside -Raymond

the river is calling...i must go
2 hours north of Denver | 30 miles from Boulder | 15 miles from Lyons
25 miles from Estes Park & entrance to RMNP
3 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park at Wild Basin

Riverside Raymond is surrounded by the majestic Roosevelt National Forest where wild adventure abounds!

From Lyons, traveling up the mountain to Riverside - Raymond along Hwy 7; watch for cyclists, wild flowers, rock climbers, bears, pull over and catch a view.

This area was severely flooded in 2013 and if you look closely as you drive up, you can still see evidence of that terrible day. Many cabins in this area were devastated and several completely destroyed (gone!). Our property lost several beautiful Blue Spruce, Aspen and our car bridge that led over the river...all quite small in comparison to those who lost so much. We MAKE THE MOST out of our days we get to spend at the cabin.

Riverside / Raymond @ elevation 7,800 ft.
Six miles from Allenspark, River Rest Mountain Cottage
is located in the inviting mountain neighborhood of Raymond Colorado, which rolls along the
Middle St. Vrain River and is a collection of unique cabins, cottages, pine and aspen.
Because of our altitude, we always recommend spending at least 1 night in lower near by elevation
to get acclimated. Read here for more
information about altitude sickness.
There are residents who live here year round as well as seasonal cabins. There is a small store "in town"...hours and offerings vary...perhaps a good spot to grab a cold pop as you head out for the day.
You'll see people strolling with their dogs
or riding their bikes along the residential street.
The cabin property is an un-fenced riverside acre butting up to Roosevelt National Forest. Remember there is no cell service in this area nor any marked trails in the forest, so if you explore that direction be sure to check the weather first, tell someone where you are
going and dress / pack accordingly.
From the cabin, you can see neighbors to the north,
a few seasonal log cabins...and you cannot see the neighbors to the south.
Fishing, catch and release, is possible here with a license.
Not far, you can still Go Explore so much more!
Peak time of year to view the change of leaves in the fall is
mid-September, don't miss it!
Late Fall - Winter- early Spring, River Rest Mountain Cottage closes it's doors for the season...open again
